Cordell K. Knighten serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Memphis Health Center, where he provides strategic financial leadership to support the organization’s mission of delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare to the communities it serves. A military veteran with more than 20 years of executive accounting and finance experience, Mr. Knighten has built a distinguished career leading financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, grant compliance, audits, internal controls, ERP implementations, and organizational growth across nonprofit healthcare, healthcare-related organizations, manufacturing, and entrepreneurial enterprises.
Before joining Memphis Health Center, Mr. Knighten held senior financial leadership roles with organizations including ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Friends For Life, Inc., and CJMK Inc. Throughout his career, he has directed complex financial operations, strengthened internal controls, optimized financial systems, supported multimillion-dollar budgets, enhanced regulatory compliance, and partnered with executive leadership and governing boards to drive operational excellence and long-term financial sustainability. His diverse background in nonprofit healthcare and corporate finance enables him to provide strategic insight while ensuring strong fiscal stewardship and accountability.
Mr. Knighten earned both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Taxation from Mississippi State University. His combination of advanced financial expertise, military service, and commitment to servant leadership reflects his dedication to strengthening Memphis Health Center’s financial foundation and supporting its mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
