Memphis Health Center, Inc. (MHC) will host a Groundbreaking Ceremony Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 10:00 am to commemorate the start of major renovations to our main clinic site located at 360 E.H. Crump Blvd. MHC received a federal grant award under the Affordable Care Act in the amount of $4,725,000 designated to completely renovate and expand the aging Crump facility. We are very excited to have been selected for this award from among 398 competing projects by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA). This project is long overdue and desperately needed. Over the past 40 years, MHC has expanded its services to include internal medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, onsite pharmacy, radiology, lab services, podiatry and ophthalmology. As demand for services has grown over the years, the Crump clinic was expanded in turn to meet that demand. Unfortunately, this growth occurred in multiple stages without the benefit of an integrated master plan. This has culminated today in an outdated and inefficient floor plan. In addition, high daily traffic through the facility for 4 decades has worn the facility, its furniture and much of its equipment. Grant funds will be used to renovate the exterior shell and to re-design the entire interior layout with the goal of improving patient flow, increasing capacity, improving efficiency and enhancing the overall quality of patient care.
